New York, NY — April 2, 2025 —  We are incredibly proud to highlight the transformative impact Bray & Co has delivered for Portacool, the pioneer in portable evaporative cooling. In a category plagued by low-cost lookalikes, our strategic repositioning helped Portacool rise above functional parity to achieve massive business results: growing revenue from $90M to $120M over just two years. 


This wasn't just a win for the balance sheet; it was a masterclass in competitive differentiation that worked to reestablish Portacool as the undisputed market leader.


The "Keep America Cool" 360 Brand Campaign

To inspire this level of growth, we utilized our Elevate Method™ to uncover a deep emotional truth: Portacool represents pride and precision in the workplace. We launched a massive integrated 360 brand campaign titled "Keep America Cool," featuring 36 campaign variants across 12 core industries. 


From Team Up With Portacool for the athletic market to our humorous "We Aren’t Fans of Fans" competitive spots, our nimble in-house studio delivered omnichannel creative at a speed and scale that the spirits or internet industries would envy.


"Together We Triumph": Pivoting Through Crisis

The true test of a creative agency isn't just how you handle success, but how you handle tragedy. In June 2023, a devastating fire destroyed Portacool’s main factory just as the selling season began. 


Bray & Co immediately pivoted from sales to survival, helping Portacool launch the "Together We Triumph" initiative to keep the company and the town of Center, Texas, united. Because of the brand equity we built during the growth phase, every single distributor stood by Portacool in their time of need – a true testament to the power of sincere, human-centric branding.


Insight-Led Storytelling in a Parity-Heavy Category

Whether we are helping a legacy brand reclaim its throne or supporting a community through a crisis, our goal is always to move the needle from "commodity" to "essential."
